Does anyone know anyone who wants to get rid of two Rob Zombie tickets? I can't believe I didn't buy them earlier!! WTF is me.
Hades, I'm sure, must be missing 7 demons| burn me deep

[25 Jun 2007|05:17pm]
It totally feels like it's going to snow. As if it really would, but in the grand scheme of things I wouldn't care until this upcoming weekend. Then it'd better get real nice, real fast. Chris and I are going to a cabin by some lake up north, where I will be doing things I have never done in my life and hope I don't kill myself, such as ATV-ing. Can you picture me doing that?! Obviously not in a little dress and fishnets! And maybe a bit of real camping, where I might be eaten by bugs and bears. Good god. Aside from that, lots of chilling in the lake in the leopard print bikini and drunken debauchery around the fire!

I have some real business to attend to and some favours to ask. I am getting back into the groove of my business plan and I need some assistance building my portfolio. In case you don't know, I am planning on starting my wn image consulting business, which went on hiatus for a while, but now I'm back. Anyways, if you would like to help me, this is what I need:

- People (men or women...all shapes and sizes)who would like me to help them see themselves in a new light by allowing me to assess their individual physical and personality traits to create a look that brings out the best in all their qualities (skin tone/body type/hair and eye colour/personality/occasion/objectives etc are taken into account)
- I will aslo take into consideration make-up options and hairstyles
- This can be for work, a social function, or just for day-to-day.
- Must be willing to spend money on a new outfit that I will assist you with selecting. It doesn't have to be super expensive (because the idea is to have you maintain and manage your new look, which of course will be on your own personal budget)
- If you don't have the cash to buy a new outfit, we could just sift through your own closet to create an appropriate ensemble...but you must have decent/flattering clothes (which I am sure you all do!)
- This may take a few hours.
- For this service, I only ask that we can do a 'before and after' shoot that I can use in my portfolio book and online. Please don't apply if you are squeamish about your images being seen by the public. If you need any assurance, I promise that I will try to have both the before and after will be as flattering as possible and to your satisfaction.

Please let me know if this is something you'd like to try out or know anyone who wouldn't mind a little revamping assistance or just something new :)

I'll also need people with different skin tones/hair and eye colours so I can demonstrate colour assessments. This, too, will be presented on my website.

Help a cat out? I'm telling you, this is all in good fun and I guarantee you'll feel awesome!

I would like to have a decent sized portfolio by the end of the Summer so I can start charging :) And perhaps have you looking your sassiest!

Either respond here or email me at elegant_torture at yahoo dot com.

01 What would you ask Santa for this year, if you knew you would get it? (No Miss America world peace answers!)

My dream fucking TRANS AM!

02 If you were Santa, what cookies would you request?

White Choclate Macadamian Nut cookies

03 Give your 8 tiny reindeers new names.

Bathory, Carnivore, Halford, Samhain, Merlot, Jagermeister, Chambord, Smirnoff.

Don't know how it started with musicians/bands and ended with booze.

**************************************************************

1. If you could, would you be a movie star or a rock star? Which one, and why?

Despite shyness, I like to perform...it sometimes makes me 'not shy' ;)

Rock Star - I wanted to be a rock star "when I grew up". I'd have wicked on-stage clothes and think I look awesome with a guitar (too bad I can't play the damn thing; but in my world, I'd be the lead guitarist!)

Movie Star - ok, wouldn't be my first choice, but I've been told that I have "dramatic flair" in some of my mannerisms and that I'd make a good actress (based on situations they've seen me in). If you've only seen my quiet, introverted side, well, you've seen fuck all, baby!Still...rock star it is!!

2. Have you ever been in the media (TV, radio, papers)?

I have not, well not to my knowledge.

3. Do you know anyone who's been on a reality TV show?

Nah, just some local wank I've seen around who auditioned on Canadian Idol.

4. Have you ever met anyone famous?

Meh, Cradle of Filth, ages ago. Got pictures and autographs. Big whoop. I don't care who's famous or not.

5. Who would play you in a movie?
I don't know! Don't say Halle Berry, just because she's brown, I hate that twit...
Someone unique, eccentric, unknown but glamourous.

**************************************************************

one: Very few people I have met are born Calgarians. Where are you from? If you are a born Calgarian, how many generations are you?

First generation Calgarian and Canadian

two: How many ends of the city (quadrants) have you lived in?

Ages 0-4: Altadore (SW)
Ages 4-5: Brentwood (NW)
Ages 5-20: Dalhousie (NW)
Ages 21-26: Varsity (NW)
Ages 26-27 (now, duh!): Lakeview (SW)

NW was my 'hood for most of my life!

three: Do you pronounce it Cal+gary or Cal+gree?

Cal-grr-ee

four: The Welcome to Calgary sign has been talked about being replaced for a long time (maybe it has and I haven't seen it, since), if you could replace it and give the city a slogan what would your sign look like and your slogan be?

I don't know...the Olympics were a part of putting Calgary on the map somewhat, but pleeease, Heidi and Howdy are sooo passe! They remind me of those Olympic ring coloured donuts we got to have in Grade 3 when this shit was going on. Live in the now. However, I don't want to see a sign with some yeehaw riding a horse or bull on it, either.

Calgary mascot should be a goat. I like goats.

five: What are some stereotypes, you hear from "out of towners" which are true about Calgary?

- Everyone thinks they're very busy, very important
- Redneckish

PHOTOS [23 Nov 2006|10:04am]
Hihi.

I am decorating my apartment, and I have more wall than I know what to do with. I would really enjoy having framed photos of my friends up instead of just posters of cool movies, vintage pin-up girls and bands, lol. Just want to personalize the space a bit more.

Could you please email me your favourite [decent resolution] picture of yourself/you & me (or one you would feel comfortable having up on my wall, haha)to elegant_torture at yahoo dot com?

I am not asking for original photos due to the varying sizes of frames and I haven't decided what's going where. However, if you would like to, that would be lovely too :)

Thanks kittens and cats!!

So far, it rocks!

- Met my best friend JB for coffee this morning.
- Thwarted our stupid usual nemesis by rearranging the chairs in the entire establishment, lol. Take that, fucker, or take something worse!
- JB bought me some Halloween gifts!
- Our usual barista gave us free Pumpkin loafs and charged only like 1/4 of the price for Pumpkin Spice lattes!
- Well now I am at boring work, but I am going to leave an hour early
- Shannon (lovely friend from Vancouver) and Kendra are coming over to my place to get the drinkin pants on
- Going out tonight to see some good metal and Jager it up.
- It's also Shannon's b'day!

Lots of pics to ensue.

[ mood | energetic ]

Saturday afternoon was fun; I fell into some practice for my future business. Of course, my friend dresses acceptably, but I want him to dress sharp without de-Metalizing him, lol (the leather boots and leather wrist bands may stay for sure...thexy!). It can be done. He let me choose items of clothing that I think suited him (taking into account his personality/hair colour/skin tone/lifestyle/age/physique and yeah he's in a band), and even the cashier said I have great taste ^_~

So I was thinking about what men -in general- need to know about attire. It is a GIVEN that I am all for individual expression and taking one's lifestyle into consideration. However, here is a quick rundown of -some- basics (some I will have to re-word it more professionally and tactfully when discussing with actual clients!):

I believe that:

- k, all men should have a really well-fitting pinstriped suit (fyi: there are various styles of pinstripe out there to accomodate preference in boldness). Pinstriped suits are sexy and mean business.

- All men should also have an assortment of button down, long sleeved, collared shirts (different colours and yes some more pinstriped ones!). You can even rock-star this up if you have the right idea (and the attitude to go with it...that's a good example of taking something and making it your own instead of the article owning YOU ). They don't always have to be worn in a conservative fashion. However, if the occasion is there where you need to wear such things to a function or office, it's there and it looks slick.

- On that note, if you're going to wear a tie with your shirt, make sure the colours of the print match well with the colour of the shirt! Suffering christ, so many tacky ties out there and worst of all, they get mismatched with a non-complementary shirt.

- Wear pants with the correct length. No one wants to see the top of your socks when you sit down.

- Please avoid that hideous washed out blackish-greyish denim. It looks trashy.

- NO BASEBALL CAPS/VISORS/ETC IN PUBLIC. Those items should NOT be accessories to your outfit. To me, it says lacksadaisical bum, and that doesn't jive with looking your best. They should only be worn on the most casual outing such as doing errands. And visors are suspect even on the beach.

- Running shoes (basic, general, unstylin' ones) should be worn a minimal amount, mainly at the gym or just for really ultra-casual outings/errands. NOWHERE ELSE. Go get some decent shoes for all other functions.

- Don't wear those girly white gay ankle socks, thinking that they're hidden safely under your pant leg and in your shoe...nothing says "ewwww" more than when a glimpse of that is captured.

Now on a PERSONAL level:

- I run a tight ship. You will not wear any of the latter items (where the constructive critisism begins! Heh) when in public with me. Not that I would ever date guys who dress like that so that goes for ANYONE.

- To be honest, I always look good so be courteous. You should think about the person you have in your company and be sure that you match their calibre. Admit it, it sucks being seen with some faux pas weirdo/slob, especially when you put effort into your appearance.

ONE THOUGHT FOR THE LADIES:

If women dressed for their body types (and all body shapes can be flattered in the RIGHT ensemble), there would be no MUFFIN TOP!!! Ewwwwwwwwwww That really does need to get outlawed. My job will be to eliminate those, one by one.

FOR EVERYONE:

- Walk with a straight back and your chin parallel to the ground. All the time. Even when you feel like shit. It denotes that you are confident, and confident people don't get taken advantage of/pissed on. Your walk builds the air around you.

- Have a strong handshake. Nothing says 'wuss' like a jellyfished handshake.

So that's about it for now! Have a great evening!

Wellll, I -AM- born in August! Duh

Speaking of self defense...I punched a friend-of-a-friend (who I had just met THAT evening) in the face last night for constantly grabbing my chest and butt throughout the night. How rude. OMG I have NEVER punched anyone's face in my whole life (slapping is another story)! I do not resort to physically harming a person in terms of dealing with uncomfortable situations, but I am so fucking sick of this behaviour. According to him, I am angry, mean and violent, but still a "cool chick" and have a "hot body" (which was one of the least pervy things he said), so yeah, he got punched more than once. Good grief. Next time, he will be choking on his junk.

I don't want to cause trouble, but I've had enough of this garbage. I am private fucking property, bitches.

Otherwise, just been having a chill weekend, so far today...

Hope you're all having a wicked long weekend!

I am feeling rambley and thinking a bit.
I am just speaking from my personal perspective. I know not everyone's situation is the same. Pain is easiest thing to latch onto.
I appreciate that upbringings and early influences make a huge impact on a person's character, myself included. But how far do you want that to go? When do you decide that in your mind you are not that child anymore, but an adult, a man, a woman...an individual who can create any reality they want to and that they have the power and free will to disregard any of the negative/unproductive ideas that were brought upon you by parents, teachers, peers etc. through childhood.
Your parents are just people, not gods. Their words/philosophies are not the be all, end all.
Would you bring up your children the EXACT same way youwere raised, even if some of it had a negative impact on you?
I've decided what I admire about mine as well as what actions of theirs I do not want to repeat in my own life, in my own relationships, in my mindset and philosophies. You get taught things that may seem right to them, but as you form your own place in the world, you realize that it may not be right for you. That's fine. You don't have to be that child forever.
When you start to view yourself as a singular entity, not attached to anyone else's perceptions of what you SHOULD be or what you WERE, nothing feels more free.

Even as an adult, when you start to have relationships, there's going to be those that shatter you in ways that you think your heart will constantly be cracked. You're going to be self-protective, defensive, suspicious...and a little bit of that is fine; I don't believe in dropping the entire wall for anyone. I know what that is all about, as I've been that way all my life in big doses. But I am sick of letting fear (of a broken heart) destroy/hinder relationships, especially when the other person has not demonstrated that they will cause harm. We have had our past hurts and I am sure there are walls built, but I try to let go and let each person prove themselves...and I try to roll with it and be happy exploring a connection with someone. Cannot let what someone else did dictate how you will treat another person.

I haven't had a great record in terms of men. I know in the future I will do some things differently and be much more careful. But at this point in my life, I don't feel like entirely closing my heart because of some shitty experiences. I may have a few more unsatisfactory relationships, but I can't let the past predict that.
Life is about progress and change, not dead ends.

What the hell am I on about?!

This heat is too much!

Check out this COLORSTROLOGY business. It's rather accurate! Skip the gay intro though, it's lame.

Mine says:
You have style and flair and carry yourself with confidence. You always look good. Your outer assurance is very different from your sensitive core. Deep and perceptive, your rare combination of insight and honesty is not often embraced and is misunderstood. Your personal color resonates with bravery. Wearing, meditating or surrounding yourself with Green Oasis helps you move through disappointments and imperfections with trust and ease. It is a reminder that the continual progression of life is where perfection reigns

3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.

4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.

Saturday was fun. Sunday was a fucking shitshow.
This weekend, I slipped on the ice at like 3AM, fell FORWARDS, and tore my chin open upon impact on the ground. :( There was tons and tons of blood.
10 stitches and a Tetanus shot later, I feel like crap. Some other events happened (which fucking should have been last priority, but whatever, it's done. Still feel stupid though) and I didn't get to a doctor til the next afternoon, so I really have to hope this heals alright. Does anyone have any tips?? I feel like such a big baby and a fatalist, but I've never been injured like this in all of my 26 years!!

She is the quintessential Scorpio as well; sweet but with a dangerous edge. I wanted to convey that duality in the portrait. I also wanted to focus on her face, which is one of her best features ^_^

Hi, this is not a real update, but I need your help!

Does anyone have a sexy nurse's outfit I could borrow for a birthday party next Saturday? I don't want to buy one. It's a medical-fetish theme (naughty nurse/deranged doctor/perverted patient, etc), this party. Effing fun, eh! Come on, it was just Halloween, someone has to have something! Preferably black ^_~
I'm about a size 7-8 and 5'8" tall.

Hope everyone's long weekend is rocking...mine is gay. I've been feeling ill since yesterday morning; this soreness, fatigue, heachache and chills won't go away completely, so I've missed some great Metal-y fun thus far. Everyone is out except me and having a great time. Boo-urns
:(

Nine Inch Nails is this Thursday. I found awesome tickets a month ago and zillions of people are going. It's going to be such a party. A "friend of a friend" has backstage passes too so we'll see what happens. Don't bring out the panty-sauce yet! Either way, it'll be a blast...total reunion of freaks and it's medical-fetish girl's actual bday on that night too. Yay!
I think I'll be at Vicious Circle before the show.

TTFN.
